Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz invites applications for the M.A. International Master’s in Cinema Studies (IMACS) for the upcoming winter semester. IMACS is a joint Master’s program offered by a network of 17 universities across Europe and Canada and provides an international, research-oriented environment for advanced studies in cinema and audiovisual media.

The two-year program combines interdisciplinary film and media studies with a transnational study experience. Students begin and complete their studies in Mainz, while the second and third semesters are spent at two different partner universities within the IMACS network. This structure enables students to engage with diverse academic traditions, languages, and cultural contexts.
