Johanna Böther was a staff member and lecturer in Film Studies in the Department of Film, Theater, Media and Cultural Studies at JGU Mainz from 2024-2025.. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Film Studies and Art History at the JGU in 2020 with a thesis on “Community and Society in the FAST AND FURIOUS Franchise.” In 2024 she completed her Master’s degree in Film Studies, also at the JGU, with a thesis on “Queer Potentials of Filmic Stagings of Polyamory.” During her studies, she worked as a student assistant in Film Studies | Media Dramaturgy and was a student representative for Film Studies | Media Dramaturgy ,as well as a member of the organizational team of the Round Table Antidiskriminierung.
