This is an introductory course on video production. The students will learn the fundamentals of digital video making and editing. The course intends to illustrate how to capture, edit and export video using non-linear editing software. The students will identify image and sounds that create impact, emotion, meaning and work on final group projects throughout the semester. Final projects will include audiovisual essays and video art projects.What message would you like to leave to the future? Think that you will have the chance to send a video to the space through a NASA mission. Your video will be stored in a spacecraft for the future generations to watch. What would you like to share? Would it be a personal memory or a political message? Would you want to share something special that is invisible to most of the people on earth? In this course we will think about how we can depict our emotions, memories and thoughts visually. We will produce audiovisual essays throughout the discussions around the current ecological, political and social issues.
